Spell "Cheated"

B-E-E-C-H-W-O-O-D, perhaps D-I-X-I-E

They needed it, though. Familiarity breeds complacency. Especially familiarity with victory. Talk to any of the seniors. They're happy Williamstown 2-pointed Beechwood.

Meant to hunt down Kaitlin but it's not friendly over there. Alumni are not welcome, it seems. I always remember Swatch or Nick or Shane or any of a number of alumni showing up and I guess they got the same treatment. I got insulted for being at BOA and State last year, too. I figure my plan was to host some event and see her today anyway. Not dealing with all the little twats that form the band. On the bright side, the 5th place thing should have beat the arrogance out of some of them. They're starting to sound like Williamstown's parents. They don't badmouth other bands (Quite the opposite, actually.) but I don't remember us as a whole being assholes like that when I was in. I stood out then and now my ego seems normal. It's not good.

The final note on the whole Chateau du Cummings house sitting adventure: Easiest directions ever. I don't know that I've found a place 5 miles distant that easily before. Three turns from the highway is nice. Also, the Halo was pretty sweet.
Stevo showed up for a couple hours to join in the Halo last night. His uncle pushed some O'Doul's into his hands on the way out, I guess. I always told myself I'd never touch near beer but it wasn't half bad. It's no Sam Adams. Not by a long shot, but I'd take it over the average light beer. Of course, I said the same thing about tofu and a mix-up in New York had me eating that. It was deep-fried, it was in front of me. I couldn't help myself. Slimy and tasteless, but harmless so far as I can tell.

Nice Place

Big windows.

I'm hanging out here 'cause I got invited to house sit with Brandon. Works for me. Amber has a friendly dog and soft carpet. I remember being offered a bed but I don't know. I've never felt comfortable sleeping in random beds for some reason. Well, that's not exactly the case. It just is here. I sleep better on the floor with a hoodie than I do in a bed sometimes. I dunno, it's a quirk. It's unpredictable. I'll figure it out someday. Besides, the carpet in the living room is soft. I like it.

Got drunk texted by Sarah. Seems they were having a bit of a party in Ryan's room. I like knowing that people are also happy. On that note, it's nice to see Kaitlin knocking some windows into her shell. The scared kid in everybody has to break out sometime, I suppose. You can only live without fresh air for so long.

I maybe would have preferred whatever scary option Emily had in mind, but I accepted this offer before I got hers. [shrug] I'm cooking up something nice for Sunday. I just don't know what it is yet.

Boone County tomorrow. I'm going for finals. It's gonna be pretty damn sweet. Go Wood!

Larry, on the other hand...

Larry is my computer, by the way. Larry is not fan-fucking-tastic.

I think the battery is shot. They don't make the Inspiron 710m anymore and all of Dell's parts are proprietary so any mods I make are gonna be fucking pricey. I think I can eBay a new, bigger battery for something like $70. I can't afford it, though. Not if I want enough gas money for this quarter. Also, I don't see me going to any concerts this quarter. I can maybe make BOA if I get help with gas, but I don't know. The jury's still out on that.

Failing all those classes and losing my scholarship money may have been my worst mistake ever, but the jury's still out on that, too. They're a busy group of imaginary people.

My psyche is fighting a war between peacefully happy and outright pissed. This stuff might make other people sad but I just get angry. Fangry, even. Whoever designed this thing is getting butchered in front of his family.

When I can afford it I think I'm gonna get a new laptop. Something with a dual-core processor and 2+ gigs of RAM. Maybe one of those tablets with the screen I can flip and draw on with a stylus. Toshiba has some nice tablets. I'd have to learn Vista but I don't give a fuck. Computers aren't meant to take a year of abuse like this.

I'm Fan-Fucking-Tastic!

And I'll be damned if I stop anytime soon!

Reasons I'm happy:
Coldplay
The Fray
Isaac Asimov
Remke's Chicken
Alicia
Nikki
Meagan
Kraut
Bret
Knowledge of what I'm eating next Saturday
My various readers
and, most of all
the fact that every morning on the way to school I round the corner and see the skyline.

I don't think anything else makes me quite so peaceful as that view except, of course, that same view at night. And I got it tonight.

Some of you fear the "inevitable" crash when you're in a mood this good. I just know in the back of my mind that I'm eventually gonna be a little less happy. My lows are so much higher than your lows. I don't mean to brag, but every breath I take makes me a little happier and more relaxed. I'm gonna sleep well tonight.

Good Idea, Bianci!

I'm gonna use Popular Science instead of The New Yorker, but I think I might try this. So if you're gonna feel bad about yourself and get all mopey, invest in a helmet. :D

Fuck you guys...

I'm gonna smile!

Fething great mood! Appropriate song!

From the Past

I finally got my hands on Coldplay's first two albums with the rest of Brandon's stuff and it took me nearly a month to move it to this hard drive. I really forgot how much I like Coldplay's older stuff. Thanks, Kraut. Good mood accomplished. I'm not entirely sure how the old albums make me feel. Just generally good. Peaceful, I suppose. It's really nice.

You guys like Coldplay?

Whole New Level of Awkward

Yeah, wrote that whole post at some retard hour. I read over it and wondered what the fuck I was doing writing when I'm half-asleep and decided I should not do that again. Besides, it expired anyway. If you didn't read it, don't worry about it. If you did, forget it happened. Won't happen again. Ever.

Ever.

Posting when semi-asleep is just as stupid as talking when plastered, kids. Don't do it.

Oy ve! I'm a happy mess, eh?

Consider that deleted and forgotten about. Sheesh... I need to start password protecting my files from me.

How is this possible? It has a lot to do with how I've organized my brain to make it easier to manage. When I started restructuring things I had to hold on to the bitch emotions because, honestly, they're handy sometimes. I occasionally need to empathize. Anyway, they're cordoned off into almost a separate bitch personality and I need to let said bitch personality out for some air about twice monthly. I just need it to not write blog posts.

Someplace Distant

So I really started thinking about this coop thing, now that I know I can go practically anywhere, and I realize it may be the biggest change I've ever made. It could also be more of the same. Depends on what I really want.

And what I've really wanted is to get away, or so I've said. Escape to someplace far off and not work any closer to home than Louisville. While not far, Louisville is still 100 miles off and it's the absolute closest, or so I said. But I have opportunities here. Either way, though, I'm leaving the house this spring if at all possible. I don't care if it's to Middletown or Virginia. It'll be an adventure.

Until I figure it out, though, I'm not making too many commitments that might be affected by me moving to some weird place. No pursuing crushes (Like I would anyway. I've only told two people about the one I have now and don't intend to tell anyone else. Goddamn booze made me talk too much.). No making plans for spring or fall quarters in the future. No long-term commitments. So far as I can tell I might end up as close as Sparta or I might end up in Lafayette County, IN. It's really a toss-up until I get hired in a couple months.

Speaking of drunken verbosity, I maybe need to know if I told you anything that may be compromising when I was shwasted. Thanks.

Ear to Ear

Had a meeting with my coop adviser today. I learned something fortuitous: Almost my entire class is looking into polymer R&D. Few of them want metals and few of them want process engineering positions. I, coincidentally enough, want process engineering in metals. In other words, companies will be fighting each other over me. I rather like the sound of that.

Also, this band is ludicrously arrogant. I love it. It's fitting, really, with this news and the way I'm trying to warp Brandon's psyche. He'll grow a pair yet.
