Summer of 2006 to fall 2007 was the late 80s pseudo-punk look, featuring denim and a fedora.
Late fall 2007 to now was marked by the trench and a more businesslike or militaristic look based on the 30s.
It's about time for a change. My plan: Working-class European, middle of the last century. This requires a tweed sportcoat, leather jacket, or bomber jacket, scarf and a flat cap. To the VDO!

Flat cap looks sweet. All that is a serious step up from the trench-coat.
I actually found a suede jacket in the closet. It's brown and I'd prefer black or charcoal to go with the black gloves and dark gray scarf and hat, but it'll do for now. I thought the hat would look really bad with my long hair, but it doesn't.
