Kicked in the Eyes

I'd blog something about last weekend, but after Sunday night I'd just as soon forget the whole thing. Drama happened, floors were peed on, Jerry Springer was not invited. Nobody has blogged a damn thing about this weekend, actually. You can take it from me that what wasn't unpleasant was uninteresting. Even the fireworks seemed subpar.

I'll be in Louisville this weekend. Some plans have been made. I intend to see "9" at some point.

I dont think anyone knew what exactly to say about last weekend...

I saw 9 Tuesday night. It is cute, but not impressive. The people I was with noticed annoying soundtrack stuff, but I didn't. Looks-wise, I really enjoyed it.

Tim Fucking Burton is involved. I'm quite sure I'll hate it. Seeing as he's basically directed and or produced the same movie over and over since 1991...

Last I checked, Burton wasn't even mentioned on the IMDB page for the film, which means his name is attached primarily to bring people to the box office. He doesn't seem to be real heavily involved. Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and other sources (evidently including James) have rated it just above average.

I'll therefore wait until I see it to pass judgment.

I heard that it's a cute little, somewhat uninteresting plot that wasn't very complex, but visually stimulating. They said at times it was like watching a video game.

From what I've seen, it reminds me of a mall rat/goth. Like that cute little girl that all in black and chains, and deep down. There isn't anything.

He's executive producer.

@Kaitlin

Yup, the exact kind of audience Burton goes for.

Burton's done the same movie since 1991? Sure he has a style you can see and say "that's a Tim Burton flick" before you even see his name anywhere near it, but the same can be said of Spielberg, Kubrick, Kurosawa, Miyazaki, Anderson (Wes) and pretty much any other director that's lived. Some have and would argue that only a set number of movies have ever and will ever be made anyway.. just recycled for the next big cash in.

Of course, like any of the other directors mentioned, you either love their style or you don't. I don't think there's a middle ground.

Anyway... I'll wait for video or download it. Unless a group of people decide we should all go to the movies it's not worth going.

Seems I've hijacked this long enough. might as well mention I have three nights off in a row this week. True, school has started back and most of you are busy. Doesn't mean I can't hope to do something fun while I still have some measure of free time left.
