On and Off

Today is a wave. The moods of the people are patterned like a simple cosine function, starting at the top and changing with strange regularity. Either way it's a damped effect that'll leave everyone numb. Blame the weather maybe. Notes from today:

Walked out to my car. It was fuckin' frozen. I hate frost. I left the sunroof cracked so the car could air out, so everything outside and in was coated with a thin sheen of ice. I finally chipped it off only to roll into maybe the most wonderfully bizarre drive ever. I turned the corner expecting Cincinnati in all its glory and saw clouds. This wasn't fog, it was a damn cloud. I could see the tops of the PNC building and Carew Tower peeking above the cloud bank. It was wonderful. I really wish I had a camera at the time. Crossing the Ohio was the weirdest, though. The river was covered in a layer of mist that looked for all the world like it was boiling and shooting up spouts of fog into the cold morning air. Strange and beautiful...

Ended up late to school, so I skipped yet another class. I'm slowly failing out of college and I'm doing nothing to stop it. The problem with procrastination this ingrained is that I'll fix it tomorrow but tomorrow never comes.

Seems to me like yesterday we all peaked. The strawberry and burgers united the hordes and we were all good and today I get up, read through my bookmarks, and see that everyone's falling. It's disheartening, really, but I've seen the past and through it the future and everything's gonna be cool soon enough. No pun intended.

Last.fm is keeping me happily occupied at the moment and rousing happy choruses from the ska channel deflect whatever troughs I see on the cosine wave into hell.
There are lots of ways of being miserable, but there's only one way of being comfortable, and that is to stop running round after happiness. If you make up your mind not to be happy there's no reason why you shouldn't have a fairly good time.
